Hijab House highly skilled and dedicated team spend hours, days and months on fabric research to ensure we only use the best materials in all our products.
We source from the mystical lands of the Far East, China, along the silk road to exotic India and the magic of Turkey. We didn’t stop there, the land of Pharaohs has much to offer for our Cotton based items, then we ventured into the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
It is the mystery of these lands that inspires our team to dedicate so much time in sourcing our fabrications to ensure Hijab House is the “house that stands out from the crowd.“
CHIFFON
Chiffon is created by weaving yarns using an alternating method. High-twist yarns are used, which means the yarns are alternatively twisted, resulting in the gentle puckering of the fabric and creating a light crumpling effect in different directions. This also causes the slightly rough feel and stretch of the fabric.
Ours are non-toxic, which you can compost in your own back garden! No nylon, no synthetic fibres at all! This is the perfect and ultimate substitute. Featuring a lightweight material that is soft to the touch, and breathable. They drape easily and have a slight stretch. It’s perfect for all-day wear, whether you’re dressing up for a special occasion or just going about your day.
Completely biodegradable and returns to soil after use.
Modal
Our Modal products are bio-based fabric that is made from spinning beech tree cellulose. Modal is generally considered a more eco-friendly, it doesn’t require much water to grow and therefore the production process uses about 10-20 times less water.
Our Modal products are produced in a CO2 neutral environment, making the fibre both ecologically and environmentally friendly – Up to 95% of the TENCEL™ Modal production materials are recycled as a result of innovative environmental processes.
Our Modal fabric is produced from Beech trees is incredibly soft and feels like silk when worn – it has twice the softness of cotton and feels amazing against your skin. Its silky texture also makes it comfortable for close-fitting intimate wear and is breathable. Unlike garments made from synthetic fibres like nylon and polyester, Modal does not trap perspiration and odors.
Bamboo
Our Bamboo items are made from 100% bamboo. Bamboo is extremely environmentally friendly, using very little water to grow, needing no harmful pesticides and being 100% biodegradable. Bamboo is 40% more absorbent than even the finest organic cotton. This means that it brilliantly wicks moisture away from the skin and is extremely comfortable. The clever, breathable bamboo fabric is exceptionally good in a wide range of temperatures, so that wearers can relax and be nice and cool in the summer and feel cosy and warm in the winter months.
Our bamboo fabric does not keep shrinking or bag after use when properly cared for. This means that you can rely on your favourite pieces to stay looking great, wash after wash.
Our Bamboo items have been proven to reduce odour, thanks to the natural anti-bacterial properties of bamboo fibre!
Whilst bamboo fibre requires far less dye than other fabrics, it also showcases colour exceptionally well. Enjoy attractive, vibrant hijabs that will last well as one of the major benefits of this superior material.
Satin
Our Satin items are shiny, soft, and elastic with a beautiful drape. Satin fabric is characterized by a soft, lustrous surface on one side, with a duller surface on the other side. Our satin Hijabs are Shiny front. Satin weaves create a shiny, soft right side of the fabric and a dull back due to the organization of the warp and weft threads. Satin feels soft and very luxurious.
Beautiful drape: Due to the concentration of fibers and the pliability of the fabric, satin weaves create a soft and easy drape that makes them ideal for evening wear and curtains.
Durable: Since satin uses long filament fibers which are woven in a very taut fashion, the resulting material is stronger than many plain weave fabrics.
Wrinkle-resistant: Satin doesn’t wrinkle as easily as other fabrics, and thicker satins are less prone to wrinkles.
jersey
Our Jersey products are soft stretchy, knit fabric that was originally made from wool. Jersey is a multi-functional and versatile textile, and it has many qualities that made it a great fabric for daily use. Jersey is:
- Stretchy: Due to its knitted structure, jersey-knit fabric is a stretch fabric, which makes it a great choice for items that require movement. Spandex can also be incorporated to create stretch jersey.
- Soft: Jersey is soft and smooth, providing comfort for the wearer.
- Opaque: Jersey fabric is opaque as a result of its knitted composition, which brings the fibers closer together with no way for light to pass through.so that why our jersey product are non-sheer
- Absorbent and breathable. Cotton jersey fabric is king here, as cotton is very absorbent and breathable fiber. Cotton jersey and cotton blends are ideal for clothing that gets daily use, like our lightweight tops.
- Well-structured. Our Jersey jersey fabrics have a nice drape.
Cotton
We use cotton in many of our products because it’s a soft material, does not sting and has a long lifespan. This fabric the fabric absorbs a lot of moisture. Cotton can absorb around 20% of moisture without feeling damp. Our Cotton fabric feels natural on your body, moisture-absorbent and breathable, easy to clean, absorbs a lot of moisture, and it’s 100% sustainable.
